Mr. Md. Enamul Haque Choudhury is a renowned banker. He started his career in 1965 as Senior Officer in United Bank Limited of the then Pakistan. He was the Managing Director of Sonali Bank, Agrani Bank and Bangladesh Shilpa Bank. After retirement from Sonali Bank in 2001, he served as Adviser, Eastern Bank Limited and Managing Director, BRAC Bank Limited. During his tenure, all these banks showed tremendous performances in Business Development, Human Resource Management, Recovery of Loans and Modernization of Banking Services.

He was a Govt. nominated Director in the Board of Directors of Janata Bank Limited from 2008 to 2011. Presently, he is a Director in the Board of Directors of Sonali Bank Limited & Chairman of Sonali Investment Limited.

An eminent banking personality, Mr. Choudhury was also a former Director, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh & Eastern Bank Ltd., Vice President, Institute of Bankers Bangladesh, Chairman, Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealer’s Association, Member, Governing Board of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management and Director, Central Depository Bangladesh Limited.

At different stages of his eventful career, he received many appreciations & awards for outstanding achievements in various fields of banking.

He attended series of Seminars & Workshops on different banking affairs in USA, UK, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Japan, Singapore and Middle Eastern Countries.

Mr. Choudhury obtained B.A (Hons.) & M.A degrees in History from Dhaka University in 1963 & 1964 respectively.

He hails from greater Sylhet District.
